Techniques vary by artist, but all professional devices are designed to prevent cross‑contamination. Your technician may use: A coil machine A linear device (such as the NeoTat) A digital rotary machine A cosmetic pen rotary A manual device All are considered safe when used according to OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens guidelines. You may request to see your technician’s OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens training certificate. If your state requires licensing or permits, those documents must be posted in plain sight.

Eyeliner can be applied in many styles and colors, from a soft, natural lash enhancement to a more defined line. Some clients prefer both upper and lower eyeliner, while others choose only one. Your technician will help you determine the most flattering and age‑appropriate design. You may be asked to arrive wearing your eyeliner the way you typically apply it, or to bring a photo reference. This helps your artist understand your desired healed result.

If you are having a lash line enhancement: You MUST stop Latisse or any lash growth serum at least 30 days beforehand You may not have lash extensions on during the procedure or the healing process These products and enhancements can cause sensitivity, interfere with pigment implantation, and affect healed results. Recent Eye Procedures or Conditions You must allow 1 month of healing time if you have had: LASIK Cataract surgery A stye Please let us know if you have ever had: Shingles in the eye area Ocular herpes Premedication will be required to prevent an outbreak. General Pre‑Care Guidelines To ensure a safe and successful appointment: Avoid booking your eyeliner appointment within days of a special event Avoid anything that may irritate the eyes leading up to your session Arrive with clean eyes and no eye makeup Remove contact lenses before the procedure After the procedure, you must purchase a new mascara to avoid infection

Days 1–6 Wash eyes with mild soap and water, using fingertips Rinse well and lightly pat dry Apply nothing to the area Days 4–6 Continue applying nothing Allow your eyeliner to dry heal There should be no need to wash until fully healed Once healed, resume your regular routine Additional Care: Change your pillowcase nightly Avoid creams, Latisse & lash growth products, glycolics, Retin‑A, lash tinting, lash extensions, and false lashes for 2 weeks Avoid high‑sodium foods for the first 3 days What to Notice Your eyeballs should not become more red. Seek medical attention immediately if you notice: Bloodshot eyes Pus in the corner of the eye(s) These may indicate infection and require antibiotics. Your liner will initially appear darker, then fade about 40%. Final color cannot be judged until 2 weeks post‑procedure. Permanent makeup is not an exact science. Results can be affected by: Mature age Poor diet Stress Smoking Excessive alcohol consumption General health Sleep/fatigue You may need up to 3 sessions to achieve your desired results.

Various degrees of swelling may occur, generally for the first few mornings. This is normal. To reduce swelling: Sleep propped up on your back Use a sealed ice bag covered with a paper towel and lightly apply for the first 2 days If the eyes are weeping or tearing, pat lightly with soft tissue Do not press the ice bag directly against the eyes.

A follow‑up appointment is typically scheduled 4–8 weeks after your initial session to evaluate healing, color retention, and determine whether additional work is needed. Healing time may vary depending on age and skin condition.
